)Boron is absorbed by plants as a borate ion (BO3)3- or boric acid (H3BO3), which are more available to root systems under neutral or slightly acidic pH conditions.
Within plants, boron generally has sufficient mobility to allow it to reach the different organs, although it cannot be redistributed from the old organs to the new ones.
The concentration of boron in plants ranges from 2 to 100 ppm.  

Generally, between 2 and 15 ppm is considered to be lacking, between 15 and 50 ppm an optimal endowment, above 75 ppm it can give rise to manifestations of phytotoxicity, which vary according to the species.
Boron in plants regulates carbohydrate metabolism, favoring their translocation from certain sites and accumulation in others;
at the cellular level, it greatly influences the permeability of the membrane, allows an orderly cell division, and is decisive for pollen fertility;
participates in the synthesis of fats and their metabolism;
greatly influences the absorption and translocation of calcium, potassium and phosphorus;
It promotes nitrogen fixation in legumes.
In soil with high levels of potassium and calcium, boron deficiency is accentuated , while within the plant an adequate level of boron is essential for the regular movement and metabolism of calcium.

On soils with a pH higher than 7, boron is scarcely available, even though it is present in adequate absolute quantities, it is preferable to operate by foliar application with specific formulations in which boron is bound with organic compounds such as polysaccharides that favor its absorption by the crop canopy.
We recommend 2-3 fertigation or foliar irrigation with boron dosages of 80 g/hl
The phase in which it is most important that the plant has the right amount of boron is the one that precedes and follows flowering, as boron is crucial for pollination and fertilization, so at least 2 interventions are recommended between these phases.
